Letter from PED, Dr. Richard Reif, July 20, 2004, Regarding "Intelligent Design" in NM Public Schools: "In no way do the science standards support the teaching of notions of intelligent design or creation science or any of its variations."

Letter on behalf of The New Mexico Conference of Churches, August 5, 2003, regarding State Science Standards: "We are aware that not everyone in the State can be totally pleased with any curriculum. However, the Science Standards are truly excellent and the great majority of New Mexicans, and people of faith, would agree that the Committee has achieved a science standard of a very high degree."
